Application of secondary metallurgy during steel manufacture

This bachelor thesis is a literary research on the use of secondary metallurgy in steel manufacture. It contains the basic division of SM and a brief description and use of individual processes. The main part is focused on the description of the structural parts of the electric arc furnace, ladle furnace and VD/VOD device. The second part of the thesis is devoted to an experiment, where the technical- economic costs of production of low and medium alloyed steels and high alloyed steels are compared. It includes costs on charging, electricity consumption, graphite electrode consumption and furnace and cover lining.
Implementation of algorithm for energetic material measurement in FPGA device

In the text of the master´s thesis, it is at first briefly referred about Energetic Material Measurement topic in general. Emphasis is placed especially at the description of the Velocity of Detonation and short analysis of selected measurement method. The most significant part of the paper is dedicated to the design and description of the system that was created in ISE Design Suite environment using VHDL language. The development was performed with respect to oncoming integration into the board with FPGA and A/D converters. The operation of detection algorithm which was created based on the MATLAB model was verified in the final part of the thesis by simulation of processing of real optical probe signals.
Sports and cultural centre, Otradov

The subject of this diploma thesis is the preparation of project documentation for the implementation of new sports and cultural centre Otradov. The dominant feature of the complex objects stands and multipurpose hall. The building is architecturally designed with an effort to fit in too much of rural architecture. Multipurpose hall has two floors, one third roofed flat roof, two-thirds of the roof ridge. The core system is aerated concrete blocks. The building is two-storey grandstand with the carrier deck. Roofing is solved by means of broken wooden beams. Sanitary facilities is dealt wall system and roofed shed roof. Athletics track, the surface of the polyurethane mixture designed for sports.
Binge-watching as a cultural milestone: changes in audience behavior in the era of streaming

This diploma thesis, entitled Binge-watching as a cultural milestone: changing audience behaviour in the streaming era, examines audience behaviour in the context of streaming platform use. The thesis examines both the most prominent trends in the consumption of media content using streaming platforms and the changes in this behaviour caused by streaming platforms. The theoretical part presents the context of streaming platforms available in the Czech Republic, the development of series production and the evolution of ways of consuming series content with respect to available technologies. The thesis also presents significant current trends in viewing behaviour. The research focuses on users of streaming services and their audience habits when watching films and series. Its aim was to define the factors that influence audience viewing behaviour, audience motivations for viewing and changes in this behaviour as they move from consuming media content through broadcast television and illegal pirate websites to using VOD services. Grounded theory was chosen as the research method, based on which several levels of coding and subsequent thematic analysis were conducted. Analysis of documentary production of the online streaming service Netflix

This thesis, titled Analysis of the Documentary Production of the Online Streaming Service Netflix, aims to describe the characteristics typical of Netflix's documentary production using a selection of films from 2015 to 2022. The films included in the analysis are American Murder: The Family Next Door, Schumacher, The Social Dilemma, The Tinder Swindler and David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet. Based on semiotic and image analysis, it examines the various elements of film language used in these films - mise-en-scene, camera, editing and sound, including the narrative mode and structure of the film. The thesis also focuses on describing the key features of Netflix production, its use to influence audiences, and the search for the reason behind the popularity of this production. The thesis also includes a quantitative analysis of Netflix's documentary production.
The Netflix phenomenon and it's impact on the audience behavior

The text of this diploma thesis called "Video on Demand Phenomenon and the Czech Viewer" describes the current situation in the world of the VOD services. It characterizes all the main elements of VOD and related business and viewer behavior and lifestyle resulting from those characteristics. The work also attempts to briefly describe all the main VOD services on the Czech market with regard to their history, current state and deals they offer to the viewer. The bulk of this work is, however, focused on the survey conducted amongst 140 people aged 19 - 26 and presenting its results. The survey finds that majority of those people prefer binge-watching over linear TV, which leads to very uneven TV watching habits and changes in lifestyle. According to the survey, it also appears that paid VOD is currently almost as popular as cable and satellite TV, but majority of people still don't want to pay for more than one service, which means that more than three quarters of them use internet piracy to get access to the desired content.
Behaviour of the czech user on media platforms Video on Demand

In the last decade Video on Demand (VOD) services are becoming the centre of audiovisual entertainment consumption. American company Netflix is currently the biggest player on the market. Thanks to growing base of viewers it has become big competitor even for big hollywood studios. Those studios don't want to lose the track in this new, popular segment of on-line entertainment, therefore they are also coming out with their own platforms. Viewer's habits on VOD services has many specifics, for example in ways of consumption or in choosing the content. The subject of this thesis is to capture allround behaviour of czech user on VOD platforms.
Digitization and the Internet - disruptive technologies of television broadcasting

The diploma thesis Digitization and the Internet - Disruptive Technologies of Television Broadcasting discusses the changes in television forms. Emphasis is placed on the transformation of the market in the form of digitization, which subsequently also led to the intensive distribution of data within the Internet environment. The introductory part of the thesis is arched with theoretical support from the sides of economic and media approaches to the process of change. Their central motif deals with innovation or remediation. A closer description of the technologies themselves and their properties is not omitted either. Thanks to a closer description of the technologies themselves and their properties, it is possible to define the existence of imaginary boundaries of television. The second part of the work focuses specifically on the Czech landscape. It deals with the current state of legislation and the non-linear functions that the Internet has brought to television screens. Local production as a future for Netflix? Comparison of business strategy when entering selected European countries

This diploma thesis deals with the current phenomenon of video on-demand and the strategy of the streaming company Netflix when entering the European market. In the opening chapters it is necessary to explain the boom of the video on-demand services (VoD) in the context of television history and its position in relation to traditional linear broadcasting. Subsequently, the dramaturgical line and the programming offer of the company are presented , which is undoubtedly a competitive advantage of Netflix. In this context, Netflix's biggest competitors and their approach to production of original content are mentioned. The challenges Netflix is facing in its international expansion are also mentioned, including the need to tailor its offer and produce local content when entering new markets. Afterwards the European market as a whole is analyzed with regard to the specificities of the region and the key steps that were necessary to successfully start doing business on the continent.
